Cozy Nighttime Pamper Routine

Happy Thanksgiving! I thought since the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas tends to be a stressful time for some, I'd write up a little post on how I take a night to myself every now and then to unwind and pamper myself.

One of my favorite things to do on these nights is take a nice bath, so a Lush product is a must. One of my favorites is the Twilight Bath Bomb. It smells like lavender and changes the bathwater the most beautiful shades of pink, purple, and blue - what could be more relaxing? While in the bath I like to use a body scrub to really slough off any dead skin. I've been loving The Body Shop Harvest Raspberry Body Scrub because it looks and smells just like raspberry jam. It really looks like you could eat it (but please don't)! I think it must have been limited edition, but definitely scoop one up if they bring it back in the spring!

Another thing I like to do is treat myself to a facemask (or two). I like applying the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to my nose, forehead, and chin after cleansing to really clear out my pores. After continuing with the rest of my usual skincare routine (toner, eye cream, serum), I'll slather on a bit of the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask instead of my usual night cream. This is my absolute favorite mask. It smells incredible and leaves my skin looking so healthy and glowing in the morning. I always like to moisturize all over, especially after using a body scrub, so on pamper nights I'll use a body butter as an extra relaxing luxury. I love the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream. It's more of an energizing than a super relaxing scent (it actually smells like Sprite!), but the product melts into the skin and leaves the skin feeling lovely and moisturized, but never greasy.

I usually hate painting my nails, but if I'm taking a whole night to myself it's something I'll always do. My nails have been positively awful lately because I fell back into the habit of biting them, so instead of using a polish I've been using the Orly BB Creme for Nails. Once you get past the gimmick of it, it's actually a great product. It feels moisturizing on the nails, and the sheer peachy tint of it evens out the nails and leaves a "your nails but better" effect. I've really been loving it.

Once I've finished the beauty section of the night, I like to curl up with a cozy-smelling candle, like the Marshmallow Fireside candle from Bath & Body Works. Bath & Body Works candles are my favorite - they burn so evenly and cleanly and distribute the fragrance well. This scent is my favorite because it has the sweetness of vanilla/marshmallow mixed with a warm woodiness that really smells like a campfire. I also love to either cozy up with a book - I've just started Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn after absolutely loving Gone Girl - or watching movies or a TV show boxset. Gilmore Girls is my all-time favorite - you can bet on it that I'll probably be watching the dance marathon episode from season 3.
